The Richmont project transforms a traditional living room into a brighter, more contemporary setting while retaining the warmth of its existing wood flooring. The before-and-after photographs highlight the impact of a focused interior makeover, with particular attention to the fireplace, furnishings, colour palette, and overall composition.
The original exposed brick fireplace is replaced visually by a white-painted brick surround, creating a lighter focal point that complements the soft neutral walls. A substantial wood mantel introduces warmth and texture, connecting the fireplace to the rich tones of the hardwood floor. A contemporary pendant provides a modern accent overhead, while the large patterned area rug helps define the seating arrangement.
Comfortable upholstered recliners face into the room, supported by carefully positioned greenery and a restrained selection of furnishings. Full-height windows and sheer curtains maintain a strong connection to the outdoors while allowing natural light to remain central to the space.
This living room makeover demonstrates how thoughtful finish choices and a cohesive furniture arrangement can refresh a familiar interior and create a more inviting residential environment.
